In addition to these advancements in AI applications, SDAIA is working closely with Nvidia to significantly scale its supercomputing infrastructure.
The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has announced a strategic collaboration with Nvidia aimed at positioning Saudi Arabia as a major player in artificial intelligence innovation. Central to this partnership is the integration of Nvidia’s latest technologies, designed to empower developers to seamlessly build and deploy AI applications using the ALLaM Arabic Large Language Model (LLM), which is optimised for region-specific workloads and offers enhanced performance and scalability.
By utilising Nvidia’s NeMo, part of the Nvidia AI Enterprise platform for large-scale language model training, and NeMo Guardrails for AI safety, the collaboration promises to streamline the creation of generative AI applications powered by ALLaM. This move is expected to set a new standard for AI-driven language models across the region. Additionally, companies will gain access to Nvidia NIM Agent Blueprints, making it easier to develop custom AI agents across various industries.
Beyond advancements in AI applications, SDAIA and Nvidia are working together to expand Saudi Arabia’s supercomputing capabilities. The plan includes scaling up SDAIA’s existing Nvidia DGX SuperPOD infrastructure to create one of the largest high-performance computing data centres in the MENA region. The expansion, which will incorporate Nvidia’s forthcoming Blackwell architecture, aims to eventually exceed 5,000 GPUs, setting new benchmarks for digital infrastructure in the Kingdom.
This partnership builds on the success of the initial SDAIA Nvidia DGX SuperPOD AI supercomputer and includes plans to expand supercomputing power exponentially. By adopting cutting-edge tools like Nvidia Triton Inference Server for efficient model deployment and Nvidia TensorRT software for optimised AI inference, SDAIA is ensuring that its infrastructure remains at the forefront of global technology trends.
Together, SDAIA and Nvidia are spearheading a new wave of AI-powered transformation, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s leadership in AI and digital innovation on the global stage.
