Warner Bros. Discovery cited Skandha’s reputation in Asia for delivering major channels across streaming, OTT, and broadcast.
Skandha Media Services has signed an agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery to handle the distribution of some of the company’s iconic channels—including Discovery, Animal Planet, CNN International, Eurosport, Pogo, and Cartoon Network—to India’s largest OTT platform.
Warner Bros. Discovery cited Skandha’s strong reputation among Asia’s top media and entertainment organisations as a key reason for selecting the company. The partnership leverages Skandha’s experience delivering major channels and brands across streaming, OTT, and traditional broadcast networks.
Commenting on the partnership, Prashant Dhar, Director of Technical Operations, Distribution & Broadcast at Warner Bros. Discovery, said: “Skandha’s proven track record in serving top-tier brands and managing all types of broadcasters speaks for itself. We’re extremely confident in their ability to seamlessly deliver our channels to diverse audiences as part of our recent collaboration with India’s premier on-demand video platform.”
Under the agreement, Skandha configured 18 channels to Warner Bros. Discovery’s technical requirements within a tight deadline. Distribution went live on June 15. From its Media Capability Center in Mumbai, Skandha provides automated services including downlinking, transcoding, packaging, distribution, and 24/7 channel monitoring.
Yogesh Salian, CEO and founder of Skandha Media Services, added: “The trust that Warner Bros. Discovery has put in Skandha compounds our commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes and reinforces our reputation as a reliable partner in global media operations. We’re honored to add this distinguished brand to our growing client portfolio.”
With over 12 years of experience, Skandha Media Services supports a wide range of live and on-demand content, from major sports events and round-the-clock general entertainment channels to movie, lifestyle, documentary, and children’s programming. The company offers end-to-end solutions covering the full content life cycle, including software development, system architecture, hosting, playout, ad monetisation, and digital operations.
“In the short time we’ve worked with Skandha, they’ve already demonstrated dependable support, efficiency and professionalism using structured processes to meet our requirements. We look forward to continuing our collaboration and drawing on their expertise in future projects,” concluded Dhar.
Using its live stream monetisation engine and modular service architecture, Skandha has delivered over 25,000 playout operations and streamed more than 150,000 hours of content to date, generating nearly 60m views.
