Iraqi entertainment channel LANA TV will exclusively broadcast the hit Turkish series Kacak for the first time in the region. The show will premiere on April 21.
Kacak, produced by Surec Films, is a drama that talks about the story of a man who realises he cant outrun his past and is dragged back into a war with old Mafia adversaries. The shows protagonist, Serhat is played by Gürkan Uygun. He is known for his famous role as Memati in the Turkish action series, Valley of the Wolves: Iraq (2006), and also for Gallipoli: End of the Road (2013) and Kurtlar Vadisi: Pusu (2007).
In the series, Gurkan plays a former policeman who puts away the son of a notoriously cruel Mafia Don and is forced to change his identity and live out the rest of his days in a small village.
Kacak has been a success for ATV in Turkey, attracting 15% of audience share on an average, and has already been slated for a second season.
The hit show is scheduled to air in the U.S. market later this spring.
commenting on the show, Saif Al Hakim, Managing Director of LANA TV, said: We are the first Arabic TV Channel to broadcast this hit series in the region and it is the third Turkish series to run on LANA TV after the success of Turkish action series Valley of the Wolves and the popular drama The Karadag Family.
LANA TV was launched by Dubai-based Moby group last year.
