Yango Play has announced the start of filming for its latest original drama series, The Frenchman, marking a new collaboration with Cairo Films. The series is produced by Wissam Seif El Islam and written and directed by Adam Abdel Ghafar, further expanding the platform’s slate of original content.
The production features Amr Youssef in the lead role, joined by a strong ensemble cast that includes Gamal Soleiman, Sawsan Badr, Ahmed Fouad Selim, Sami El Sheikh, Janna El Ashkar, Ahmed Bahaa and Injy Kiwan. The series will also feature special guest appearances by Bayoumi Fouad and Aisha Ben Ahmed.
The Frenchman is a drama-crime series centred on Khaled Moshir, known as “El Faransawi,” a corrupt lawyer who takes justice into his own hands in pursuit of revenge following the death of the woman he loved. The series is set to run for 10 episodes and forms part of Yango Play’s off-season programming slate, scheduled for release after the Ramadan season.
