This Ramadan, Ahmed Mekky takes a bold leap, stepping away from his iconic El Kebeer Awi character after eight successful seasons. He stars in Al-Ghawy, portraying Shams Nasr Al-Adawi, a former thug from Al-Jamaliya who decides to change his life after his wife’s passing. Determined to raise his son honourably, Shams faces relentless challenges. The series is penned by Hani Sarhan and directed by Mando El-Adl.
Comedian Ahmed Amin makes his return to drama with Al-Nos, a collaboration with director Yahya Ismail and Mangum Workshop. Amin plays Abdel Aziz Al-Nos, a sharp-witted thief who renounces his past to form a resistance team against the British occupation.
Qahwet Al-Mahata blends drama and thriller elements, starring Ahmed Ghazi, Bayoumi Fouad, Ahmed Khaled Saleh and Intisar. Directed by Islam Khairy and written by Abdel Rahim Kamal, the story follows young prosecutor Taha Bek Barada as he investigates a mysterious murder at a public café.
Asser Yassin returns with Qalby w Moftaho, a social drama written and directed by Tamer Mohsen. The story follows Ezzat, a driver who becomes infatuated with Mayar, a woman determined to escape her past. Having been divorced three times from Saad, Mayar fears losing her son. Their second encounter takes an unexpected turn when Mayar proposes marriage.
Young talents Ahmed Malek and Taha Desouki team up in the comedy Wlad Al-Shams, portraying two orphanage assistants, Welaa and Moftah, who clash over their differing personalities but unite against their corrupt orphanage manager. The series is written by Moheb Tarek and directed by Shadi Abdel Salam.
Following the success of its first season, Yasser Galal returns in Gawdar 2, written by Anwar Abdel Maguid and directed by Islam Khairy. The sequel continues the story of Scheherazade’s mission to tame Shahryar’s bloodthirsty nature, intertwining with the legend of Gawdar, a man whose fate was sealed before his birth.
