Yes has now received an extension of the lease for Amos 7 from September 2024 to February 2025.
Israeli pay-TV provider Yes has extended the use of Spacecom’s Amos 7 satellite into 2025. The further extension will bring an additional $7m of revenue for Spacecom.
The Beseq-owned unit is moving its customer base to a dedicated OTT service.
In a regulatory filing Spacecom said: “Yes received notice from Spacecom whereby following the Ministry of Communications’ approval to extend Spacecom’s use of the Amos 7 satellite, Spacecom exercised its option to extend its lease for the Amos 7 satellite until February 2025. Accordingly, Yes received an extension of the lease for the Amos 7 satellite from September 2024 to February 2025.”
Spacecom signed a two-year extension agreement with Yes in July 2021 to continue using the Amos-7 and Amos-3 satellites at its orbital hotspot at 4 degrees West.
