Viewers in the GCC can look forward to watching Bollywood films during Ramadan. The movies are part of a special film programme organised by channel Zee Aflam.
Classics, historical epics, family dramas are among the genres of Bollywood cinema that will be aired. Films that are in solidarity with the Holy Month will also be shown. Special segments will be broadcast during Suhour and Iftar, according to prayer timings in the United Arab Emirates and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Speaking about the line-up,Tamer El Sherbini, head of marketing, Zee Aflam, said: Our purpose for the dedicated programme for the month of Ramadan is to focus on Indian films that depict moral values that should be reflected upon during this auspicious time. These films will either be dubbed or have Arabic subtitles.
He also mentioned that the channel aims to promote values of generosity and selflessness through the dedicated programme during the Holy month.
Zee Aflam is a free-to-air movie channel which predominantly caters to Arab audiences. It is available on Nilesat.
