At IBC 2012, Accusys will introduce the ExaSAN SWF16 switch. It is the newest ExaSAN product of PCI Express 2.0 based storage and switches, and combines the features of a SAN switch and metadata server.
The built in MDC manages multiple PCIe2.0 RAID systems and multiple clients. Each client can share 20Gb/s bandwidth to process HD, 2K, and 4K format video streams.
SANit FS, the SAN management software, developed by Accusys is pre-installed in SWF16s MDC. SANit provides major SAN features and user friendly graphic user interface. For media and entertainment professionals, ExaSAN plus SANit lowers the amount of setup and maintenance required compared to traditional Fibre Channel or iSCSI SAN.
General manager of Accusys, Susyan Huang said: ExaSAN storage is easily deployed as a DAS or SAN, providing a high speed storage access to any client workstation/server attached to it. In a SAN, access to ExaSAN storage is controlled by SANit SAN management software. Accusys has low latency high-speed PCIe 2.0 throughout the ExaSAN systems, and also Performance Equalization and DLP technology embedded in the PCIe2.0 RAID controllers.
