Clear-Com, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, will showcase a number of different solutions at CABSAT 2018. Its enhanced LQ Series of IP interfaces claims seamless connection between intercom systems over IP, while its Agent-IC app promises to turn Android and iOS devices into mobile intercom panels via WiFi or cellular networks. Displays will include the Trilogy-branded Mentor RG sync and test pulse generator (SPG) and the Gemini matrix system.
The LQ 4.0 now hosts Agent-IC mobile apps and SIP telephony. As a brand-agnostic interface platform, LQ Series interfaces use IP as the means to securely connect industry-standard brands of 2-wire and 4-wire intercom systems over IP networks. In addition, LQ interfaces third-party SIP/VoIP telephony and existing intercom systems, allowing intercom users to make direct telephone calls over connected SIP-based phone systems.
LQ Series bridges traditional analogue and digital partyline intercom systems with IP communications such as the Agent-IC. Up to eight licensed Agent-IC mobile app clients can be connected to each LQ device over WiFi or cellular networks, thus allowing intercom expansion easily and cost-effectively.
Agent-IC, a free app available to download from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store, allows iOS or Android smartphones and tablets to operate as fully-featured mobile user panels when connected to any Clear-Com or third-party intercom brand over Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G and LTE networks. It provides point-to-point calling, point-to-multi-point group calling, partyline, PTT, local cross-point audio level control, and notification functions.
Building on several generations of Trilogy Sync and Test generators, the Mentor RG generates synchronised video, audio and timecode signals for broadcast purposes to an extremely accurate time signature, often provided by a GPS reference system, which is then passed on to the mission critical automation system. The single box solution ensures absolute synchronization of multiple signals in any broadcast or professional media application.
Also on show will be the Gemini matrix intercom, a flexible, real-time intercom system that features comprehensive integrated IP capabilities together with interfaces to 4-wire circuits, telephony, AES/MADI, IP panels and SIP for analog or IP based solutions.
