PlayBox Neo solutions can easily be tailored to provide the precise capability required for any scale of channel playout management.
PlayBox Neo is set to unveil a comprehensive lineup of major enhancements to its suite of smart media solutions at CABSAT 2025, taking place from May 13 to 15 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Visitors will get a first-hand look at the company’s next-generation media platform, showcasing the latest innovations tailored for the rapidly evolving broadcast and media landscape.
Known for managing every aspect of the media production workflow—from ingest and asset management to graphics creation, titling, subtitling, ad insertion, scheduling, and playout—PlayBox Neo continues to expand its offerings to meet the growing demands of global broadcasters. The modular nature of its solutions allows users to scale and customise functionalities to match the needs of any channel operation, whether for single or multi-channel environments.
At the core of the showcase is the PlayBox Neo Suite, an integrated collection of tools designed to optimise media operations for television networks, satellite broadcasters, OTT platforms and content creators. This suite ensures streamlined workflows through centralised control, monitoring and efficient management of multimedia assets. It also integrates seamlessly with the company’s existing “Channel-in-a-Box” product line, offering clients a unified interface and enhanced flexibility for future upgrades without sacrificing existing infrastructure.
The Channel-in-a-Box system includes essential tools such as AirBox Neo for automated playout, ListBox Neo for scheduling, TitleBox Neo for interactive graphics, Ingest for content capture, and Media Gateway for versatile signal conversion and delivery. These components work together to deliver high-quality, 4K-UHD optimised broadcasts across various platforms, including satellite, OTT and cloud-based TV.
A standout among the PlayBox Neo products is Capture Suite, a live ingest solution supporting multi-channel and multi-server UHD/HD/SD input, suitable for complex television and post-production environments. Media Gateway, another key tool, enables flexible handling of broadcast signals, including IP, SDI and NDI inputs, with capabilities like up/down/cross conversion, encoding, and transcoding to simplify daily content distribution tasks.
The company’s cloud-native playout solution, Cloud2TV, also reflects the shift toward virtual broadcasting. Built entirely on software, Cloud2TV empowers operators with streamlined, agile and efficient video production and content delivery capabilities.
In addition to its core offerings, PlayBox Neo will highlight a number of new technical upgrades at CABSAT this year. These include RIST Output for secure and reliable internet streaming as an open alternative to proprietary systems; SMPTE 2022-7 compliant RTP output with redundant links for uninterrupted streaming; enhanced subtitle capabilities with colour support in STL; and a new frame interpolation option for smoother video during framerate conversion.
Other enhancements include integration with external devices like BlackMagic Atem mixers, allowing AirBox Neo to trigger actions in real-time, improved performance in the AirBox Neo graphics mixer and updates to the TS Encoder with support for AAC and MPEG1 L2 audio at both 44.1 and 48kHz sample rates.
PlayBox Neo CEO Pavlin Rahnev said: “Our PlayBox Neo technology, founded on over 25-years of experience in a global broadcasting sphere, is well equipped to meet the changing needs of media content owners, broadcasters and playout service providers, including major players in the MEASA market.
“We continue to lead the way in product scalability, refinement and flexibility. MEASA broadcasters trust in reliable and efficient technology, and our CABSAT presence will demonstrate how uncomplicated PlayBox Neo systems are to install and operate. We welcome CABSAT attendees to see what makes PlayBox Neo a world-leader in television playout and branding channels. We look forward to meeting visitors at the show and to discuss how our PlayBox Neo solutions can meet specific broadcast needs.”
