The programme will start with the exclusive release of ‘Between Heaven and Earth’ followed by ‘Billie’ and many more.
Cinema Akil, Dubai’s independent cinema has announced this year’s Spring Programme featuring a slate of award-winning feature films and submissions to the Oscars’ best international feature film award category.
The programme will kick-off with the exclusive release of Between Heaven and Earth by Najwa Najjar on January 30. To be followed by the MENA region theatrical premiere of James Erskine’s documentary Billie, definitive biography of Billie Holiday, this will open on February 19, with a live introduction by the film’s producer Barry Clark Ewers and run until the 4th March. In March, Amin Nayfeh’s 200 Metres Jordan’s submission to the Academy Awards starring Ali Suliman and the 2020 Danish submission Another Round by Thomas Vinterberg’s comedy-drama in collaboration with Front Row Filmed Entertainment, will cap Cinema Akil’s Spring Programme.
