The multi-year deal will kick off with the 2025-26 season and continue through the end of the 2028-29 campaign.
The Bundesliga is set to return to Turkish screens under a new four-season broadcast agreement with Saran Media Group, beginning with the 2025-26 season. The deal, announced by the German Football League (DFL), grants Saran exclusive rights to air both Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 matches across its S Sport platforms. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
This marks a homecoming for the Bundesliga, as Saran Media had previously held the rights until 2021. The renewed partnership taps into the league’s strong connection with Turkish fans and players, as the Bundesliga currently boasts the highest number of Turkish players among Europe’s top five leagues. Notable names include Atakan Karazor of VfB Stuttgart, Salih Özcan of Borussia Dortmund, and Can Uzun of Eintracht Frankfurt.
Peer Naubert, Managing Director and Chief Marketing Officer of Bundesliga International, said: “Turkish players have a history of shining in the Bundesliga, from Halil Altintop, the highest-scoring Turkish player in league history, to Frankfurt’s rising star Can Uzun.”
“Building upon this rich heritage, and leveraging the current crop of national team players starring in the Bundesliga, we have become the fastest-growing of the top five European leagues when it comes to fan interest in Turkey. Working alongside Saran, we aim to showcase the stories of Football as it’s meant to be, bringing the Bundesliga even closer to fans across Turkey over the next four years,” added Naubert.
Kenan Saran, CEO of Saran Media Group, stated: “We are thrilled to extend our partnership with Bundesliga, one of the world’s most exciting and competitive football leagues. Turkish football fans have shown incredible passion for the Bundesliga over the years, and we are committed to providing them with the best viewing experience possible.”
