The new playout facility consists of the latest AirBox Neo-20 automated server with Capture Suite ingest management, TitleBox Neo-20 text and ListBox Neo-20.
PlayBox Neo has announced the completion of a new playout facility for Chilean broadcaster ULagos TV.
Owned and operated by the University of Los Lagos, ULagos TV provides a wide range of educational programmes which are transmitted in 1080i high definition via the region’s DTV network and online.
As part of this new investment, legacy third-party playout equipment will be replaced by a new turnkey system consisting of the latest AirBox Neo-20 automated server with Capture Suite ingest management, TitleBox Neo-20 text and graphics generation, and ListBox Neo-20 pre-transmission scheduling capabilities.
Speaking about the new playout facility, Claudia Millan, Director of Strategic Communications at the University of Los Lagos, said: “This venture was prompted by the decision to add a second television channel. We discussed the various options with the engineering team at Santiago-based broadcast systems integrator DUO who recommended PlayBox Neo as an industry-proven producer of robust and versatile TV channel branding and playout solutions.”
Robert Plass, DUO Engineering Manager, added: “PlayBox Neo CIAB systems are inherently compact and power efficient as well as being very intuitive to drive. The system we proposed and have installed provides the resources needed to support both the existing and the new channel from a single server. It includes a Microsoft Windows operating system and Blackmagic Design interface cards. We also provided staff training onsite at ULagos TV’s headquarters. The entire project ran very smoothly, completing within the planned timescale and within budget. One year of post-sale support is included and, like all PlayBox Neo customers, ULagos TV has the option of signing up to an annual service agreement for fast online support if needed plus future software upgrades.”
