Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) is revamping its websites during Ramadan to provide worldwide access to its TV, press, and radio channels. The new features available on the websites will include live streaming, channel news and exclusive clips, as well as broadcast frequencies, series and sitcoms, dramas and other electronic applications and digital services.
Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, Deputy CEO of TV and Radio Support stated that the launch of applications and online services reflect the strategy of the Government of Dubai to provide a superior media service to the Middle East.
Heba Al Samt, Director of Digital Media for TV and Radio at DMI added that the new portal and the advanced apps will enable greater viewing and interaction with the public.
Greater ease of navigation and a new design are part of the features that DMI brings to its audience for Ramadan. The websites include comprehensive information on programmes and drama series that will air on each channel, in addition to a panoramic overview of all Ramadan programmes and series, daily programme schedule, prayer times and Quran online, breaking news headlines services via social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), and TV and radio live streaming.
All DMI production of various programmes on its multiple channels will be available as well as other productions and dramas during Ramadan, which can be fully browsed online and played with high quality right after on-air broadcast, classified in viewing and age group categories, in addition to the live streaming of Emirates News bulletin in Arabic and English.
A new catch-up service allows viewers to re-visit all of the programmes, dramas and news included in the daily schedule of the programme master of Dubai TV, Dubai One and Sama Dubai channels. This will soon be available across all DMI channels. A DMI Player app that provides live streaming of all the channels on iOS devices is also available on www.dmi.ae/live.asp.
The VoD (DMI on demand) service has also been re-launched with a new and improved interface, to combine online live streaming and allowing for people to watch more than 16 thousand videos, legally owned by DMI for electronic publishing around the world.
