The Forum will discuss topics concerning the future of local media, its challenges and the ability to compete internationally as well as the importance of the latest technologies in the advancement of media.
The Dubai Press Club has announced it will be hosting around 100 media professionals at the fifth edition of the Emirati Media Forum (EMF) on May 20, 2019, at the Four Seasons Hotel, Jumeirah.
Organised under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, this edition will discuss the future of local media and its ability to compete regionally and internationally, the challenges that face the media industry and the importance of staying abreast with the latest technologies in order to ensure the advancement of UAE media.
EMF will also focus on the impact of Emirati social media influencers in the UAE and the content being produced on social media networks. Another part of the discussion will explore ways to advance local media. EMF aims to establish a dialogue platform that emphasises the role of local media as an active partner in the media industry.
Commenting on the programme, Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, President of the Dubai Press Club, said: The fifth edition of the EMF has been organised to provide a wider scope for discussion and exchange of ideas on important topics concerning the local media and the role of media in supporting the communitys best interests.
She added that the event is an opportunity to assess the progress of our local media and the extent to which it has been able to keep up with developments and adapt to the requirements of the future.
The event will serve as a platform to analyse the current reality of local media and answer several questions related to the sector, such as what is expected from our local media, what opportunities are available for it and what are the challenges it faces, she added.
