Abu Dhabi will host the first International Environmental Film Festival in the Arab world. The festival is organised by Media Lab and will run from March 9- 14, 2013.
Sheikh Ahmed Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, the Chairman of Festival Boards of Trustees said, The festivals intention is to lay firm scientific and practical foundations for the Arabic Environmental Film Industry and to find solutions to create sustainable awareness to protect the environment.
In face of climate disasters such as Global Warming & Climate Changes, we have to take responsibility to reinforce public awareness through the most effective means: Arts & Media, he added.
ADIEFF will support environmental films and documentaries with a view to promoting the importance of saving the environment. Therefore, key importance is placed on constantly updating knowledge in the fields of preserving the environment especially through what is displayed on the cinema.
The event is in harmony with Abu Dhabi’s 2030 scheme which aims at conserving the capital’s biodiversity.
