Shots of sweeping dunes and desert can be seen in the official trailer which was released last week.
The trailer for the Hollywood sci-fi film Dune, directed by Denis Villeneuve, has scenes which were shot in the UAE and Jordan. Dune is scheduled for release on December 18.
Some of the scenes were shot in Abu Dhabi last year to show the desert planet of Arrakis, an inhospitable fictional planet around which the plot of the film revolves.
Shots of sweeping dunes and desert can be seen in the official trailer released last week. Scenes were also filmed in Wadi Rum in Jordan.
The film is a remake of the 1984 sci-fi classic and based on the book by Frank Herbert.
Dune stars Timothée Chalamet, Oscar Isaac, Stellan Skarsgård, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Rebecca Ferguson and Dave Bautista.
Other films which have been shot in the UAE over the years include Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, Furious 7, 6 Underground and Sonic: The Hedgehog.
