UAE-based Broadcast distributor MediaCast recently held a Stage to Studio workshop in association with Avid. Featuring the new Avid S3L mixing system and ProTools 11, the workshop was attended by 70 audio enthusiasts and professionals.
Lars Kischkel, Avid Solutions Specialist from Germany flew in especially for the event to demonstrate ProTools 11. Lars was joined by Sreejesh Nair, Audio Solutions Specialist EMEA, Avid, who demonstrated the Avid S3L. Live performance with the Avid S3L was conducted by Simon Short and Neil Harrison from the Dubai based music band Beat Antenna.
The modular Avid S3L System comprises of a high-performance HDX-powered processing engine running AAX plug-ins, scalable remote I/O that can live on stage or in a rack, and a head-turning, compact control surface thats built for the road, but equally at home in the studio.
Jaffer Sadique of MediaCast said: It was exciting to see so many live-sound experts and Avid enthusiasts together at this event. Avid S3L is a brilliant product in its class, and at this size, it is a superb combination of quality and mobility. ProTools fans were happy with the new capabilities of the latest version. The event also worked as a platform for the pro-audio and Avid enthusiasts to share ideas.
MediaCast and Avid will also be holding an exclusive Avid S3L training in Dubai in May.
