Nine producers from the Arab world have joined forces with mena.tv Content Hub to create a MENA pavilion at MIPCOM 2018.
Touted as the first ever initiative of its kind, the pavilion is located alongside the MIPCOM buyers club. The pavilion showcases original Arabic drama, documentaries, lifestyle and kids titles from award-winning producers such as Cedars Art, Eagle Films, Rotana, Roya and Abu Dhabi Media.
Commenting on the potential in the region, Heba Korayem, Client Director, mena.tv Content Hub, said: There have been exponential advances in quality from the region recently. Script development and production values have come into in line with international standards, and we are now seeing a trend towards Arabic productions being made available in several languages.
As part of this years MENA focus, the MIPCOM conference programme will also feature buyers from the region. The session entitled What do MENA Buyers Want? on October 15 will see senior figures from MBC, Fox, Zee and Saudi Broadcast Authority reveal what they look for when buying international content. Nick Grande, CEO of mena.tv Content Hub will moderate, and also present exclusive MENA buying data from the past 12 months.
