Matrox Gecho is now available as part of MIL X Update 118.
Matrox Imaging has released Matrox Gecho, its new event-logging tool for Matrox Rapixo CXP frame grabbers. It will help developers optimise image capture.
The utility logs acquisition activity so that users can troubleshoot capture errors, and measure latencies and execution times to identify performance bottlenecks.
Matrox Gecho is a built-in event-logging tool that simplifies image-capture debugging and optimisation. Offered with both Matrox Imaging Library (MIL) X and Matrox Design Assistant X vision software, it records events generated by the Matrox Rapixo CXP device driver and saves these to a JSON or CSV file. Running concurrently with the device driver, Matrox Gecho logs acquisition activity, and the trace files can then be loaded into Google Perfetto for viewing on an interactively navigable graphical timeline.
With Matrox Gecho, users benefit from a simple acquisition log that helps them set up and streamline video acquisition, detecting and correcting performance bottlenecks or errors so as not to corrupt or slow down the image-capture process.
The new Matrox Gecho event-logging utility strengthens the capabilities of the established suite of Matrox Rapixo CXP frame grabbers. These quad-, dual-, and single-input CoaXPress 2.0 frame grabbers support data rates up to 12.5 Gbps (CXP-12) per connection and provide convenient Power-over-CoaXPress (PoCXP) support. Certain models can also distribute image-processing workloads across multiple computers using a data-forwarding capability.
Mitchell Dumont, Product Manager of Matrox Imaging, said: “Matrox Gecho is a wonderful tool for making optimal use of Matrox Rapixo CXP frame grabbers. The tool is available for both MIL X and Matrox Design Assistant X software, so no matter which environment users are familiar with or looking to leverage, Matrox Gecho is there to help optimize image acquisition.”
