The Dubai Film and TV Commission (DFTC) has launched the first of many initiatives that its planning to run throughout the year as part of The Year of Giving.
This month, DFTC partnered with Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC), and Reel Cinemas, to host childrens film screenings under the theme A Smile for Every Child. The initiative aims to offer children an opportunity to experience the joy of watching latest blockbuster movies on the big screen.
Earlier in April, Reel Cinemas The Dubai Mall hosted a screening of the Disney blockbuster family-favourite Moana. The screenings of A Smile for Every Child will be held every quarter.
Jamal Al Sharif, Chairman of Dubai Film and TV Commission commented: We would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, for this wonderful initiative that gives us an excellent opportunity to have meaningful initiatives that help our community.”
Al Sharif added: “A Smile for Every Child is one of our many initiatives that reflect our commitment to having a real contribution to the Year of Giving. It is special to us, because we are able to share the love of movies and the joy of living the magical experience of cinema with those children.
