'The Pulse' brings together 18 acrobats and 25 live choir members in a display of human strength, harmony and resilience.
Dubai Opera is set to host a theatrical event as it welcomes the UAE premiere of The Pulse, an internationally celebrated production by the Australian ensemble Gravity & Other Myths. Running from May 9 to 11, 2025, this show promises to push the limits of live performance with a fusion of raw acrobatics, live choral music and stage design.
Known for its visceral energy and emotional depth, The Pulse brings together 18 acrobats and 25 choir members in a thrilling, genre-defying spectacle. Winner of three International Circus Awards—including accolades for Outstanding Production, Choreography and Design—the performance features soaring human pyramids, rhythmic movement and a score by composer Ekrem Eli Phoenix, enhanced by the lighting of Geoff Cobham.
At the core of The Pulse is an exploration of human connection, cooperation and the shared experience of being alive. As bodies and voices intertwine on stage, the synergy between movement and music creates a deeply immersive experience that resonates with audiences long after the curtain falls. The production has been widely praised for its artistry and innovation, with Limelight critic Jansson J. Antmann describing it as “breathtaking in its skill, artistry, and daring.”
Paolo Petrocelli, Head of Dubai Opera, said: “This production is a landmark moment for Dubai Opera. We are proud to present shows that are innovative, emotionally powerful, and culturally significant. The Pulse is all of these and more. It’s a bold expression of artistic excellence that brings together global talent in a way that leaves a lasting impact on every viewer. Hosting this extraordinary performance in Dubai reinforces our commitment to offering world-class cultural experiences to our audiences.”
Following its acclaimed runs across Australia and Europe, The Pulse now makes its debut in the Middle East.
The Pulse runs for 1 hour and 15 minutes, with tickets available now at the website.
