Katara Studios has reaffirmed its dedication to fostering emerging talent and innovative storytelling by participating in the Saudi Film Festival. Collaborating with Production Market, Katara Studios identified and celebrated exceptional regional filmmakers at the festival, providing a platform for them to showcase their projects and vie for awards.
During the festival’s production market activities, Katara Studios announced its substantial support of 100,000 Saudi Riyals ($26663.25) to the Saudi short film The Man Who Stumbled by His Words. Directed by Mubarak Al-Zawba and produced by Batool Al-Arafah, the film caught Katara Studios’ attention with its narrative and artistic vision.
Katara Studios announced its investment in The Man Who Stumbled by His Words, ensuring that the filmmakers’ creative vision is fully realised through comprehensive post-production support led by Maryam Al Sahli, Post Production Manager at Katara Studios. This investment will further facilitate the film’s reach to audiences in the Arab World and beyond.
The Man Who Stumbled by His Words narrates the journey of Naif, a renowned writer grappling with writer’s block and personal challenges as he embarks on a voyage of self-discovery. The film’s exploration of creativity, perseverance, and the human experience resonated with audiences and critics, earning it the festival’s top honour.
