MBC Group officially inaugurated O3 Drama Production Studios at Dubais first Sound Stage yesterday in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President of the United Arab Emirates, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.
Several officials were present at the private opening including HH Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; H.E. Mohammed Abdulla Al Gergawi, Chairman of Dubai Holding; and MBC Group Chairman Waleed Bin Ibrahim Al Ibrahim.
At the opening, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said: “Dubai reinforces its position as the leading hub for premium content production, in Drama and TV programming, of different genres, with state-of-the-art studios of international standards.
The dignitaries toured the sound stage that has been developed by Dubai Studio City. They were also given demonstrations of the Visual Backlot that is spearheaded by Hollywood VFX specialist Stargate as well as the latest digital camera technologies, LED lighting, motion tracking, real-time compositing as well as 2D and 3D imaging and virtual sets.
Besides a short promo clip that summarised MBC Groups latest productions in drama and entertainment, the dignitaries were also treated to a short film that showcased a futuristic view of Dubai in 3D with special sound, light and visual effects, and a special scene from one of the drama series that is being produced at the studio.
