MBC News has captured Egypts political, social and civil activities by documenting the ongoing civil war using the Quicklink iPhone HD Pro App and broadcasting live footage to air and to the web using Quicklinks Media Manager (QMM).
The IPhone App is an amazing way to capture major events as they unfold and broadcast instantly back to the MCR. The iPhone App Solution allows complete covert coverage without the requirement for large scale broadcast equipment said Richard Rees, CEO Quicklink.
The solution allows MBC the ability to become very responsive to any incident or breaking news event that could occur in Cairo at any time. By using the Quicklink app, the footage goes live to air instantly from a number of field locations. At the control centre, the live scenes are switched in real time and even allows return IFB / anchor questions from the studio.
The Quicklink iPhone HD Pro App incorporates Quicklinks Real Time Optimisation (RTO) and inbuilt Audio Protection (iAPS) and is automatically adaptive to changing network conditions.
The advanced software is fully configurable from the control centre and settings such as resolution, maximum data rate and frame rate can all be controlled with no field user input required.
In addition, the IFB talkback can be used as a standalone option with Quicklinks existing product range thus allowing complete flexibility to the users in the field.
