Persiana TV is the latest channel to join Yahlives East beam at 52.5° a hotspot available to more than 140 million viewers in the region. The announcement of the channel’s inclusion was made via Yahlive’s twitter feed. Yahlive is the Abu Dhabi-based satellite joint venture between satellite operator SES and UAE-based satellite operator Yahsat.
Based in Turkey, Persiana TV broadcasts reality shows, talk shows, lifestyle content, travel and other general entertainment. The Farsi-language channel joins, via Yahlive’s partner North Telecom, 131 exclusive Farsi channels out of a total of 146 Farsi channels. The total number of East beam channels is 196 and Yahlive hosts an overall total of 305 channels across all beams.
In an Ipsos Connect report published earlier this year, Yahlive has seen a significant rise in viewership from a reach of 25.5 million in 2014 to 62.3 million in 2017, via Yahsats Al Yah1 satellite located at 52.5° East.
Among the other key insights of the Ipsos Connect study on Yahlives Farsi market penetration was that Yahlive was the top ranked operator for the fourth year in a row as a provider of Farsi channels, with a satellite market share of 68% over three years and a retention rate of viewers estimated at 87%.
