Zee Entertainment’s Arabic Video on Demand platform Weyyak held a screening of the first episode of the series titled Ribat Alhob in Ewart Hall at the America University of Cairo.
After nine years of its success on TV, the series will be shown exclusively in the holy month of Ramadan 2022 on the streaming platform.
Weyyak was one of the main sponsors of the 43rd Cairo International Film Festival, which ran from November 26-December 5.
Furthermore, a special ceremony was held afterwards in cooperation with the Cairo Film Festival and the Indian Embassy in Cairo, hosted by the Indian Ambassador in Egypt, Ajit Gupte. The event was attended by politicians, artists, and prominent figures of the film industry in the Arab world, including Grammy-winning composer AR Rahman, Secretary-General of the Arab League Amr Moussa, Amr Diab, Elham Shahin, founder of the Arab Film Festival, director of El Gouna Festival Intishal Al Timimi, director of the Cairo Festival Mohamed Hefzy and many of Egypt’s brightest stars and entrepreneurs in the cinema and media industries.
In his speech, Gupte emphasised the close ties that unite India and Egypt, and the rapprochement between the two countries. Nadine Samra, CBO of Weyyak for the Middle East and North Africa, spoke briefly about the content provided by the platform and about Zee Entertainment.
