ARRI has announced the launch of the L-Series Plus, a new generation of LED Fresnels that builds upon the legacy of its dependable predecessors. With features such as up to 90% increased brightness, direct network data input, and an intuitive onboard control interface inspired by the ARRI SkyPanel, the L-Series Plus offers enhanced benefits while retaining features like continuous focusability and smooth light quality.
Originally introduced in 2011, the ARRI L-Series LED luminaires revolutionised professional lighting by providing LED alternatives to traditional tungsten Fresnels while offering advantages like independent control of colour temperature and brightness. The L-Series Plus maintains these advantages while introducing improvements such as increased light output and enhanced connectivity.
The new L-Series Plus fixtures are available in two sizes: the L5-C Plus with a five-inch Fresnel lens and the L7-C Plus with a seven-inch Fresnel lens. Despite their compact size, the L-Series Plus products deliver significantly more light output, making them more powerful and versatile for various lighting applications. Existing accessories like barndoors are fully compatible with the new Plus range.
One of the key enhancements in the L-Series Plus is the implementation of network data input and lighting control via industry standards like ArtNet and Streaming ACN. This allows for simplified workflows and familiar onboard control, similar to the acclaimed ARRI SkyPanel. The light output is calibrated for optimal reproduction on broadcast and digital cinema cameras, ensuring accurate skin tones and vivid colours.
Built with ARRI’s renowned quality and reliability standards, the L-Series Plus fixtures are designed to withstand rigorous professional use in diverse environments, from movie sets and television studios to live events and corporate productions. The combination of passive cooling and discreet fan operation ensures silent performance even in critical shooting conditions.
The L-Series Plus maintains the core benefits of tuneability, colour fidelity, durability, and ease of use, now enhanced with the latest connectivity standards. Individual knobs allow precise adjustment of brightness, colour temperature, and green/magenta point, while a focus knob enables smooth beam spread adjustment.
The L5-C Plus and L7-C Plus fixtures will be available from June 2024 in blue and silver or all-black colour options, with manual or PO yoke configurations. The existing L-Series models will be discontinued upon the release of the L-Series Plus, marking a new era in LED Fresnel technology.
