Showcasing independent Arabic cinema, Aflam, Abu Dhabi’s monthly film club will screen A Man of Honor by Lebanese film director Jean Claude Codsi. The film will be preceded by twofour54 creative labs short film, The Long Way Down, by Egyptian director Yasser Howaidy.
A Man of Honor has been featured at several international film festivals, including the Carthage Film Festival in Tunisia. Recently at the Doha Tribeca Film Festival, it made its world premiere.
Set in Lebanon and Jordan, the feature length film is about shame, revenge, passion and the many facets of human nature.
In addition to the feature film, twofour54 creative lab short film, The Long Way Down revolves around two executives, an Arab and a Westerner, who get stuck in a particularly long elevator ride down from the 59th floor. It was also presented at the 2012 Arab Camera Festival in Rotterdam.
Supported by twofour54, Aflam was launched following the success of a film club that Nayla Al Khaja and D-Seven Motion Pictures founded in Dubai in 2007. The film club offers complimentary seats, English subtitles, a chance to talk to film directors and a forum for industry professionals and film fans to network.
