Abu Dhabi Media has produced a documentary titled A Place Called Home, that will air exclusively on Abu Dhabi Al Emarat on January 15 at 9pm. The documentary focuses on expat life in the UAE. It follows the heartfelt journey of five expatriates from different nationalities that leave their families back home to work in the UAE.
The documentary, which will also be broadcast on Abu Dhabi Al Oula on January 16 at 7pm, is one of Abu Dhabi Medias latest productions and focuses on the social experience offered to residents of the UAE and the benefits they enjoy, in addition to the government support they are provided in line with its humanitarian regulations.
The film also highlights the UAEs efforts in safeguarding workers’ rights and improving standard of living by showcasing the experiences of five individuals from different social backgrounds who chose to work in the UAE to support their families in the Philippines, India, Serbia and Bangladesh.
Commenting on the film, Abdul Hadi Al Sheikh, Executive Director of Abu Dhabi Television, said: Abu Dhabi Media is pleased to produce and broadcast A Place Called Home, a documentary film that brings a truly important issue to life by detailing the lives of individuals from varying cultural backgrounds who have chosen to make the United Arab Emirates their home, in order to make a living for their families.
This film is significant in that it is a realistic capture of the radical shift in the lives and futures of those who choose to move to the UAE, and a genuine representation of the country as an ideal living destination. The film not only objectively communicates the countrys ambitious development plans, but also confirms our commitment to produce and broadcast unique and compelling content that appeals to ours audiences locally and across the region.
The hour-long documentary is one of Abu Dhabi Medias most important productions of 2015, and was filmed primarily in the UAE. Documentary footage also includes scenes from each of the expatriates home countries, which uniquely characterises the quality of the cinematography and production of the film.
