Paramount Hotel Dubai has announced the grand finale of the “We Create Drama” Film Festival, an event for filmmakers and movie enthusiasts. Set for Sunday, June 2, the celebration invites everyone to participate in workshops and public screenings of independently made films by the top nine finalists of the competition. Created in collaboration with Nikon Middle East and Africa, Grand Stores, Zhiyun, and Westford University, the festival promises a day filled with creativity, learning, and cinematic excellence.
The event features a variety of workshops led by industry experts. Attendees can join sessions on “The Art of Independent Filmmaking” and “AI in Cinema: Exploring the Future of Film,” offering valuable insights into the filmmaking process. Guest speakers and panellists from the American University of Sharjah and SAE Film Institute will share their expertise, providing a learning environment for aspiring filmmakers.
Nikon Middle East will conduct a specialised cinematography workshop, ensuring participants gain hands-on experience with top-of-the-line equipment. Light refreshments will be served to all workshop attendees.
An engaging panel featuring the directors and finalists of the “We Create Drama” Film Festival will delve into their creative processes, the stories behind their films, and the journey of bringing their visions to life. This session offers an opportunity for attendees to learn from the finalists and gain inspiration for their own projects.
All nine finalist films will be showcased in the hotel’s private dine-in cinema, the Paramount Screening Room, equipped with a 175-inch cinema screen. Each film, ranging from three to ten minutes, will be open for public viewing, celebrating the diverse and innovative storytelling talents of the participants.
The event will culminate in a red-carpet awards ceremony, honouring outstanding contributions in various categories. Sponsored by Nikon Middle East and Africa, Grand Stores, Zhiyun, and Westford University, the awards include the coveted “Film of the Year,” as well as accolades for Director of the Year, Actor of the Year, Actress of the Year, DOP of the Year, and Writer of the Year. Winners will receive prizes, including top-of-the-line Nikon cameras and Zhiyun gear, along with exclusive hotel experiences such as dining in the hotel’s F&B outlets or a luxurious staycation at Paramount Hotel Dubai.
