The updated CLEAR aims to revolutionise the post production process with new collaboration tools, upgraded performance, embedded MAM functionality, and strong workflow management.
Prime Focus Technologies (PFT) has rebranded its patented DAX Digital Dailies to CLEAR. Initially released in 2004, DAX pioneered the online Dailies experience at a time when the industry was using DVDs and has been the only patented Dailies solution since.
First acquired by PFT in 2014, DAX has now transformed into CLEAR with a host of features that will transform the post production processes.
Users can now drive post production supply chain efficiencies like ingest, delivery, Master QC, localisation and Mastering on CLEAR.
CLEAR’s MAM features allow users to upload, manage and create a cloud archive of the RAW or mezzanine (ProRes, DNX) production content (i.e. finals, screeners and marketing content), transcode to any format and deliver to VFX vendors to create trailers and promos.
Users can also add comments, create clips and sizzle reels, and collaborate with post teams as soon as the content is being uploaded.
Other features include an Apple TV app, Next-generation HTML5 Player, multi-cloud architecture, one-click share, enhanced security, powerful administration module and personalised user experience.
Commenting on the rebranding, Ramki Sankaranarayanan, Founder and Global CEO, Prime Focus Technologies, said: “As part of CLEAR, we have expanded DAX from a dailies solution into holistic content creation and post production supply chain platform. CLEAR brings to the table a host of creative collaboration and post production tools in the cloud with powerful MAM and supply chain management capabilities. We look forward to delivering exceptional user experience and tangible business benefits to content creators.”
